A topic that always interests me,
My attention holding when none else will -
The shining star of my grotesquerie:
The state of my health (and my latest pill).
Dovetail the weather into our patter.
Speak of the turmoil in the Middle East.
Talk of politics — it doesn't matter.
I am not interested in the least!
But, ask how I feel, though bored to death, less
Mention a pain, where once none existed -
I will expound, until I am breathless,
Rapt in a dream that can't be resisted.
An arrogant ass? Indubitably -
My favorite topic is always - me!
